A retirement reception will be held for Randy Chlapecka on Sunday, Oct. 5 from 1:30 to 3 p.m. at the Newport Business Resource Center, 201 Hazel Street. A presentation will be made at 2 p.m.  Randy came to Jackson County in 1986 and will be retiring from the Cooperative Extension Service as the Jackson County agent.  Light refreshments will be served.

The deadline to register to be eligible to vote in the November 4 General Election is Monday, October 6. You may register in the Jackson County Clerks office during normal business hours Monday-Friday 8 A.M.-4:30 P.M.
Greyhound Touchdown Lunch will be held every Monday during football season in the Harris Hospital community room beginning at noon. Lunch is $5 per person.
